谢彬的《新疆游记》一书,是他九十多年前前往新疆和阿尔泰特别区调查财政时的日记。书中除了调查财政外,还寻访古迹,记录沿途风光,了解地理沿革,收集传说及地名来历,关注民族构成与民族关系等等。因此,这部书可以看作是百年前的一部新疆百科全书。其中对于伊犁的记述尤为出色,他为我们详尽地描绘了塞外江南的山光水色,介绍了多民族聚居区的民情风俗、社会经济状况,展现了西部边陲的众生相。对于我们今天更加深刻地认识伊犁,更加自觉地建设伊犁,都有重要的启迪意义。
The book, the Notes of Traveling in Xinjiang was written by Xie Bin, a famous writer more than 90 years ago. At that time, he was dispatched to Cinjiang and Aertai region as a member of financial minister of Bei Yang Government in Qing Dynasty.The book covers various fields, including the investigation into finance,revenue stamp, currency, census register, propery and trade, he recorded many places of interest he visited and the sightseeing including the distance tetween them as well. He also got to know the geographical condition along the road and colected some legend and the origin of the different names of places.In addition, he paid more attention to the structure of nationalities and the relationships between them. Therefore, this book can be regarded as an encyclopaedia about the history of Xinjiang 100 years ago. Among them, the charter about Yili is extra ordinarily wonderful excellent. As it not only presents us with a vivid picture of the asiry land but also the ethnic customs of the multinationalities. It described us the social and economical status of this remote region. The social status it described was so lively. Above all, it is greatly important for us to learn Yili more profoundly and make contribution to Yili more independently.
