On Correctly Handling with Contradictions among the People under New Circumstances——In Memory of the 50th Anniversary of the Publication of Mao Tsetung's On the Issues of Coping with Contradictions among the People in the Right Way

建国以后,人民内部矛盾上升为我国政治生活的主题。进入改革开放新的历史时期,特别是随着改革向纵深方向发展,一些深层次矛盾逐渐暴露,人民内部矛盾也日趋复杂,从内容到形式同过去相比,都有了一些新的变化。正确认识和处理人民内部矛盾,对于维护改革、发展和稳定的大局,对于构建社会主义和谐社会,对于提高党的执政能力建设等具有重大意义。

Since the founding of the People＇s Republic of China, contradictions among the people have been growing into the themes of China＇s political life. When China moves into the new period of reform and opening up, especially when reform is being pushed forward in deep, some deep-seated contradictions have gradually turned up, contradictions among the people have been stepwise complex. Those contradictions, as compared to the previous ones in content and in form, assume a new look. Therefore, a correct understanding and handling the contradictions among the people is greatly significant for maintaining reform achievements, for the overall situation of development and stability, for the socialistic harmonious society construction and for the improvement of the Party＇ s governance capacity.
