Cantonese Merchants and Scholar-businessman

粤商与儒商属交叉而非包含关系。并非所有的粤商都具有儒商的道德属性,但历代粤商中都有儒商的代表人物。为了提高新粤商的素质,应当引导现代新型儒商的价值取向,造就新型儒商式的新粤商。

The relation between Cantonese merchants and scholar-businessman is not inclusive but overlaping. Although not all of Cantonese merchants possess the moral property of scholar-businessman, however, among the Cantonese merchants of all generations, there are some who can be ranked as representative of scholar-businessman. In order to enhance the quality of the new Cantonese merchants, we should advocate the modern value-orientation of new generation of scholar-businessman and bring up new type of Cantonese merchants with the quality and style of modern scholar-businessman.
