The Research on the Relations Between Liang Qichao and Yuan Shikai

梁启超与袁世凯是中国近代史上两个非常重要的历史人物,梁袁关系的变化与中国近代重大事件相联系,在戊戌变法时期、民国初年、护国运动时期他们之间关系密切、交往频繁,时而言和,时而结怨,变化异常,对中国政局产生了重大的影响。梁袁关系的变化反映了梁启超宪政思想和袁世凯帝制思想的冲突和斗争,也反映了中国近代历史进程的曲折与复杂。

Liang Qichao and Yuan Shikai were very important figures in Chinese modern history. The changes of the relations between them were greatly related to the significant events of Chinese modem history. During the period of Wu Xu political reform , at the beginning of the Republic of China as well as the period of protectorate campaign, their relations were very closed. They were in contact with each other frequently, sometimes they became reconciled. However. theri relations changed unusually. These relations caused great influences on the Chinese political situation. The changes of their relations not only indicated the conflicts and struggles of Liang Qichao, idea of constitutionalism and Yuan Shikai, idea of monarchy , but also indicated complications of the course of Chinese modern history.
