进入飞速发展的21世纪,中国高等教育迎来了前所未有的大发展时期。但中国也与欧洲各国一样,高等教育面临有史以来的第一次"世界性危机"。立足中国本土,审视转型时期中国高等教育发展中面临的挑战,所涉及的主要方面有大众化中高等教育的质量问题凸显、多种形态一样化的高等院校、校长在现实中的管理角色错位、高等教育国际化背景下的本土化狭缝难生等。

China＇s higher education meets an unprecedentedly great development in the 21st century. However, like European countries, China faces the first ＂world crisis＂ of the higher education throughout history. Based on China, the challenges of the development of China＇s higher education in the social transition period are analyzed, concerning with the quality of popularized secondary and higher education, equal higher learning institutions of various formations, the role wrong place of presidents in the actual management and the difficult existence of native education under the background of the internationaliation of the higher education.
