Using an encoded, manually-driven portable phased array ultrasonic instrument, a series of pro-cedures for inspecting the welded joints of pipe were introduced, including the method principles, the system con-figuration, the operation essentials and the obtained results. The intention is to provide some useful information for reference in spreading this new technology in our country.
