从文化语言学视角看汉诗英译的意象再造——兼评英译《螃蟹咏》的得与失

On Image Actualization in English Translation of Chinese Poetry from a New Perspective of Cultural Linguistics——Analysis on English Translation of the Poetry Ode to Crab

诗歌翻译关键在于原诗中的意象能否在译文中再现。帕尔默文化语言学认为意象是由社会文化和个人经历体验决定的，意象、文化和语言三者有着紧密的联系。在诗歌翻译时，了解源语、目的语的社会文化及作者的文化背景和个人经历对原诗意象在译文中得以较好的再现起着至关重要的作用。本文拟从帕尔默文化语言学视角以杨宪益和霍克斯所译《螃蟹咏》一诗为例，浅析两个译文中意象再造的得与失，以期能在诗歌意象翻译研究方面获得一些启示。

The key of poetry translation is how to represent the image in the translation. According to Palmer＇ s theory of cultural linguistics, image is decided by social culture and individual experience, and image, culture and language affect each other. In the translation of poetry, social culture, historical background and experience of the poet play a dominant role on image actualization. This paper makes an analysis of the poetry Ode to Crab respectively translated by Yangxianyi and Hawkes from an angle of Palmer＇s Cultural Linguistics Theory in order to get some insights on image actualization in poetry translation
