黑脸琵鹭自1849年命名以来，现成为世界濒危鸟类，全球仅存1700余只。自1999年在辽宁省黄海沿岸的石城岛形人坨子上发现了中国的唯一繁殖地以来，作者对黑脸琵鹭的繁殖、越冬和迁徙进行了观察和研究，同时每年都对辽宁黄海沿岸的一些岛坨进行调查，在2007年6月又在距第1处繁殖地东南3n mile（海里）的元宝坨子上发现了第2处黑脸琵鹭繁殖地。黑脸琵鹭是辽宁的夏候乌，每年4。8月进行繁殖。9月至翌年3月在中国江苏盐城以南地区越冬，其中以在台湾越冬数量最多。国外繁殖在朝鲜、韩国和俄罗斯，越冬在韩国、日本、越南、泰国、菲律宾。

Platalea minor has become endangered bird in the world since nominated in 1849, there are only 1700 birds now. Since the only propagation place in Xingrentuozi on Shicheng/slands along seashores of Huanghai Sea in China were found in 1999, observation and studies on propagation, hibernation and migration of Platalea minor were conducted, and meanwhile investigation was carried out on some isles along seashores of Huanghai Sea in Liaoning each year. In June 2007, the second breeding place for Platalea minor was found in Yuanbaotuozi that was 3n miles away from the first breeding place. Platalea minor was migration bird in Liaoning and propagated between April and August, and hibernated in areas to the south of Yancheng in Jiangsu from September to the next March, and hibernation population was highest in Taiwan. Platalea minor propagated in Democratic people＇s Republic of Korea, Republic of Korea and Russia, and hibernated in Republic of Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and Philippine.
