Ecology of Mangroves in Japan

日本红树林主要分布于琉球群岛和九州本岛南部，有真红树植物种类８科１１属１１种，构成７种主要红树群落类型，其中冲绳岛以南诸岛以木榄群落为主，冲绳岛及其以北诸岛以秋茄群落为主．

Mangroves mostly distribute at Ryukyus Islands and the southern Kyushu Islands in Japan. There are 8 fa milies,11 genera,11 mangrove species which make up seven co m munity types, in which Bruguiera gymnorhiza community is do minant at those islands more southern than Okinawa Island, and Kandelia candel co m munity do minant at Okinawa Island and the more northern ones. K. candel forest at Kiire cho of Kagoshi ma County is consided as the norhtern li mit of mangroves naturally distributing in the northern hemisphere.
