“腾冲”名考

A Study of the Origin of the Place-name Tengchong

"腾冲"之名,传统认为是"藤子充满"。征诸史籍及田野调查所得,"腾冲"唐初前称"藤弯",是白语地名,意为"养马狂奔的地方"。

Traditionally, the place - name Tengchong is understood as ＂place filled with rattan＂. Through a study of the relevant historical documents and field investigation, the paper concludes that Tengchong was a place -name called ＂Tengwan＂ in the Bai language before the early Tang dynasty and meant ＂a place where trained horses are running＂
