属于音乐本体表演艺术形态的指挥,既具有音乐表演艺术的一般特征:即音乐音响创造的时间性与听觉性、音乐表演形象展示的有声性与无形性、音乐表演审美效应的抒情性与想象性等;又具有区别于其它音乐表演艺术形态的典型特征:音乐演绎过程中的主导性和整体性、音乐音响创造流程中的间接性与中介性、音乐表演形态上的动作性与可视性等。这些构成了指挥表演艺术的基本特征。对这些基本特征的正确理解和描述,有利于对指挥本质、指挥人才基本素质构成状况、指挥表演艺术基本规律的理解;有利于加强指挥学的理论建设。
