自1810年德国创办柏林大学始,西方大学已经走过了近两百年的历程。两百年来,改革贯穿于西方大学发展的始终,经过一系列改革,西方大学逐渐由社会的边缘走向社会的中心,并建立起较为完善的现代大学制度。西方大学在两百年改革历程中所积累的经验,为其他致力于高等教育改革与发展的国家提供了宝贵的启示与借鉴。

Since the establishment of Berlin University in 1810 in Germany, western universities have already experienced a history of nearly 200 years with reforms all along. Due to a series of reforms, western universities have been gradually moving from the edge to the centre of society, and more perfect modern university system has been built up. The experiences that western universities accumulated in the process of 200 years＇ reforms have offered valuable enlightenment and reference for other countries who are devoting themselves to higher educational reform and development.
