The paper is to explore the relationship between metaphor definition and animal name verbalization as well as the classification of animal name verbalization based on metaphor theory. So-called animal name verbalization which initiates association, analogy and produces vivid and fresh rhetorical effect is Noun-Verb conversion according to natural instincts and looks of animals, thus helping us recognize and illustrate the human essence. The accurate use of animal name verbalization not only enables us to enjoy various and colortul expressions in metaphor but deepens our understanding of English language connotation.
