English nouns can be divided into two types: countable nouns and uncountable nouns. Within the framework of cognitive linguistics, the reason why nouns can be divided in this way can be appropriately explained in terms of boundary. Generally speaking, the countable nouns are used to indicate the bounded objects, while the uncountable nouns are used to indicate the unbounded objects, which is in accordance with human's cognition experience.
