马克思的"世界历史"思想不仅是唯物史观的重要内容,而且还是唯物史观研究的重要方法。唯物史观的最初创立就是借助"世界历史"的研究而形成的,离开了马克思的世界历史思想,就不可能真正理解其唯物史观。今天我们要深化和发展唯物史观,同样必须关注"世界历史"的研究。"世界历史"的研究范式对于推进唯物史观研究具有重要的意义,这主要是通过问题的提出、思维方式的调整和转换、原有理论研究的深化、新研究课题的发现和确立等方面体现出来的。在全球化的历史背景下,要对社会发展中的现象和问题作出深入的理解、深化社会历史认识,就应当充分挖掘马克思"世界历史"思想的重要价值。

Marx＇s notion of world history is theoretically and methodologically an integral part in historical materialism. It was by way of his world history studies that Marx brought into being material- ist conception of history, which would have remained incomprehensible to us had there been no Marx notion of world history. Marx′s world history studies weighs heavily in today′s development of historical materialism, since the work of its research paradigm is still being felt in the way of question-rai- sing, thinking in the changing situations, developing the classic researches and finding and establis- hing new research projects. That′s why research into Marx′s notion of world history is quite significant for a thorough understanding and illustration of the major phenomena and issues in the development of social history and consequently for the comprehension of social history itself in the context of globalization.
