民国时期苏锡常地区新式排灌机械发展及原因探析

Modern irrigation machinery development in Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou(SXC) Region during the Republic of China:a causal analysis

民国时期,以石油引擎和电动机为动力的新式排灌机械在苏锡常地区被广泛引进并使用,使农业生产力显著提高,生产效率几倍甚至是上百倍地提高,是我国农具发展的重要事件。民国时期排灌机械的发展与苏锡常地区的自然和社会条件密切关系,苏锡常地区平坦而多水的地理条件、充沛的降水量、发达的经济实力、较高的物价水平、快速发展的电力等是排灌机械成功得以发展的主要原因。

Modem irrigation machinery with oil- or electricity-engine was widely imported and used in the SXC region during the Republic of China, which raised agricultural productivity several times or even more than one hundred times. It was an important incident in the history of Chinese farming tools. The development of the irrigation machinery closely related with the natural and seeial conditions in the SXC. The main reason why the modem irrigation machinery was popularized was that it was characterized by smoothness, plenty-of-water, abundant-precipitation, highl-price-level, and fast-progressing-electric-power in SXC region.
