It is our great pleasure to introduce this special section,a selection of papers from the First International Symposium on Data,Privacy and E-Commerce(ISDPE 2007).ISDPE07 is an international conference in technical cooperation with IEEE covering the research of data processing,data privacy,and electronic commerce.It attracted more than 500 submissions.Among the 100 regular papers accepted on the conference proceeding,ten of them were invited to be extended and submitted to Journal of Computer Science and Technology(JCST).The extension is at
