3M:The Creativity Code of a Hundred-year-old Company

摘要 在创新已经成为企业持续发展的“发动机”,在无数CEO为如何营造创新文化而绞尽脑汁的今天,有这样一家跨国公司,它历经一百多年成长,非但没有才思枯竭,反而散发着勃勃生机,不断推出创新产品。 Nowadays while numerous CEO are racking their brains for how to build the creativity culture,3M,the one that has been developing over one hundred years,is not dried up for new ideas but still keeps active and puts forward series of creative products all the time. What magic method that creates endless new products for 3M? It lies to the enterprise culture of 3M. Most of the new products are not researched and developed by their engineers. For example,the privacy filter screen was originally used in computer,but it turned out to be used in ATM and in mobile phone as well,this idea was thought up by a 3M Chinese sales clerk. There are 5 steps for 3M to build the creativity culture:Firstly,find the right talent;Secondly,set up the goal,a proper goal leads to the common idea of both the executor and the leader;Thirdly,donate relevant energy,such as capital,training,time,etc;The most important and difficult point is that the leaders should be aware of the way of authorizing?shut up their mouths with hands in the pocket,letting alone the teams work;Lastly,the well-done staff should be given enough affirmation or awards absolutely. But how to reply those who fail or make mistakes? As we know,there is no success without failure,so at this moment what the leaders should give to them is certain encouragement.
