The Comparative Discussion on the Feelings of Sorrow in the Novels of Shen Congwen and Chi Zijian

沈从文和迟子建分属中国现代文学和当代文学两个时期的作家,他们的作品在思想艺术上有很多相似之处,其中悲悯情怀是一个重要的方面。他们小说悲悯情怀的成因主要有两个:一个是在现代化的进程中,在都市和乡村文明的冲突中,他们坚守乡土文明立场,但又对乡土文明救赎无力;男一个是在主流和民间文化的选择上,他们都坚守民间文化立场,关注平民的生活,而平民的生存境遇和命运又充满了悲剧性。

Shen Congwen is a modem writer and Chi Zijian is a contemporary writer in China. There are many similarities in thoughts of their works, especially in the feeling of sorrow. The origins of the feelings of sorrow are mainly the two： one is that in the conflict of the city culture and countryside culture, Shen Congwen and Chi Zijian hold on the latter one, but that is beyond their ability to save the countryside culture; the other one is that on the choice between the edge literature and the main stream literature, they hold on the civilian standpoint, but there are so much misery filled in the life and the destination of the countryside people.
