后现代这一概念产生于西方发达国家,源于科学技术高度发展的社会所面临的价值观的剧变。文章通过分别讲述现代主义和后现代主义对当代服装的影响,揭示出后现代主义设计是现代主义的延续,后现代的很多努力是对现代主义的一个补充,正是这种关联性,使当代服装设计在后现代主义风格下创新发展。

The concept of Post-modernism originated from the western developed countries and comes from the dramatic change in the social values brought by the highly developed scientific technologies. Through the analysis of the modernism and post-modernism＇ s influences on costumes, this article states out that the design of post-modernism extends and complements that of modernism. It is this kind of relation between the tow that further the innovation in the costume design with post-modernism characteristics.
