缠足与近代中国妇女解放研究述评

Review of Studies on Foot-binding and Women Liberation in Modern China

缠足在中国历史上曾经长期存在,给中国妇女的身心造成过严重的摧残,也因此引起当今中外学者的浓厚兴趣和深入探讨。特别是20世纪末以来,众多的论著研究缠足问题,包括缠足的起源、发展、影响、废止及其与近代中国妇女解放的关系等,尤其关注近代西方文化对缠足陋俗的冲击,特别是教会和传教士在宣传和推动男女平等以及反对缠足方面的领先作用。展示中外学界的研究现状、分析其研究的内容与特点是很有必要的。

Existing for a long time in the history of China, footbinding once greatly mined the Chinese womeng body and mind, thus causing the deep interest and in-depth exploration of domestic and foreign scholars in modem times. Particularly since the end of the 20th century, special attention has been paid to the source, development, influence and abolition of footbinding as weU as and its relationship with women liberation in modem China. Particular attention was paid to the shock of modem western culture on the undesirable custom of binding, especially the leading function of missions and missionaries in popularizing and promoting equality of men and women and opposing footbinding. It is necessary to show the present situation of research and analyze the content and characteristics of the past research.
