复合型外语人才指不但能熟练掌握一门外国语的各种知识和技能,且具有其他一门学科的基本知识和技能的一专多能的人才。英语专业复合型人才培养是社会主义市场经济的需要。本文通过分析如何利用理工院校的办学优势,培养英语专业学生的复合能力,探析了英语专业人才培养模式的进一步改革与实践。

A compound talent of foreign language means one who masters not only all kinds of knowledge and skills of a foreign language, but also some basic knowledge and skills of other subjects. The cultivation of compound and application-oriented talents is the requirement of the socialist market economy. Through analysis of how to take advantage of universities of technology to cultivate the compound ability of English majors, this paper explores the further reform and practice of the talent-cultivating pattem.
