The Investigation and Revolution for Specialist English Teaching in Environmental Engineering Major

专业英语在环境工程本科教育过程中有重要的作用。但是当前由于本专业学生基础英语水平较低,该课程在设置过程中也存在一些不妥之处,加上学生、教师和学校对其重视程度不够,因此本课程的教学效果欠佳。应从通过优化环境工程专业英语的教学内容,改革目前的教学方式和手段,提高校方、教师和学生三方面的重视程度,一定能确保环境工程专业英语的教学效果,保证学生英语学习四年不断线。

Specialist English pays an important role in undergraduate education in environmental engineering major. But the education effect is not good enough, according to the author＇s teaching experience and the investigation results on two year students. The reason can be included as following： at first, the basis English lever of most of the students is below to the basic demand. Secondly, there are many defects in the schedule of the course. At last but not the least, students, teachers and university pay little attention to the course. Optimizing the teaching contents, reforming the current teaching mode and methods, improving the three sides＇attention is the best way to raise teaching efficiency and guarantee students learn English continuous in undergraduate period.
