摘要
本文总结了国内外泛读研究的发展过程和趋势以及亚洲泛读项目开展过程中的经验教训，从中得出：大量阅读是学习语言的有效手段；快乐阅读可以使学生轻松愉快地接受和学习语言。我国外语教学必须正确认识泛读的作用，提倡读书型外语学习，使学习者真正享受读书和学习英语的快乐。
This paper conducts a survey on the history and trend of the study on the teaching of extensive reading both at home and abroad. It advocates learning English through free reading and strongly argues that the value and the role of extensive reading should be emphasized in English teaching in China so that learners will truly enjoy the pleasure of reading and learning English.
