Lu Xun and The Songs of the Chu(Chuci)

鲁迅立足现实,在文学创作尤其是诗歌创作方面对楚辞进行了广泛的借鉴与运用,进一步将楚辞中展现的"凭心而言"、"发愤抒情"的创作思想赋予"现代"气息,触及楚辞灵魂的同时也意识到古代知识分子不可逾越的时代局限。

Standing on the reality of his time, Lu Xun has made extensive references to, and uses of, The Songs of the Chu（Chuci） in literary writing, and in poem- writing in particular. Furthermore, he has bestowed a sort of ＂modem＂ ethos upon such creative views as ＂to speak from the bottom of the heart＂ and ＂to express emotions determinedly＂ demon- strated in The Songs of the Chu （Chuci）. Thus, while touching the string of what is incarnated in it spiritually, he has, at the same time, realized the intellectuals＇ insurmountable limitations of that era.
