The paper analyzes the current situation and problems of railway container transportation and comes up with the following suggestions on how to speed up its development：reasonable plan of the container transportation network construction, the way to construct container central station and logistics center, operate and run the railway container classes-trains and double-stack container transportation （DST）,put froward some measures to promote the development of the multi-mode transportation, improve service quality and broaden the financing channels.
