Rethinking on Translation Purposes

德国人Hans Vermeer上世纪70年代提出的翻译目的论近年来引起我国译学学者的关注,他们对此进行了深入的研究,提出一些新的观点,如翻译目的具有多层次,层次具有等级性的特征。以翻译实践中的一些案例为据,指出翻译目的在具有上述特征的同时也存在单一性、层次排序的动态性和模糊性的特点。

In recent years, many Chinese scholars in translation field have made further studies of the Skopos theory which Hans Vermeer advanced in 1970s, proposing some new points of view that translation purpose is multi - dimensional and hierarchical. This paper, evidenced by a few case studies, argues that in some contexts,translation purpose is unidimensional,the hierarchical order of translation purpose is dynamic as context varies, and in certain instances, there exist indistinct demarcation line between the higher and lower translation purposes.
