海明威是当代世界最具鲜明特色的作家之一。在其近四十年的创作生涯中,虽因长篇小说的成就而蜚声世界,但他却是从短篇小说创作起步的。他的艺术风格在他的短篇小说中表现得更鲜明、更突出。
Though Ernest Hemingway, one of the most distinctive writers in the world, enjoys worldwide popularity for his novels, he started his writing career of some 40 years by setting his pen to short stories, which are greatly typical of his writing styles.
