On the Impetus to Artistic Changes

艺术的发展离不开社会经济的大环境。经济的发展则又依赖于社会需求、科技的进步。我们站在人类历史发展的角度,归纳出这样的结论:科技的进步、社会的发展与需求、人类思想的变化——对艺术更高的审美追求是人类艺术发展的动力。

The development of art depends heavily on the then social and economic environment, while economic growth is not independent of social demands and progress of science and technology. On the basis of human historical development, a conclusion is reached： human artistic development finds its impetus in the progress of science and technology, the social development and demands, changes of human thoughts, and more advanced aesthetic pursuits as well.
