Modern Malaise and Its Scheme: Standpoints of a Communitarian——On Charles Taylor's Diagnosis of Modernity

现代性问题是我们时代的最为重要的问题。查尔斯.泰勒通过其对思想史的深刻剖析,提出了现代性理解上的分殊,即:"文化的"与"非文化"的现代性,并指出了"非文化"的现代性观点在西方文化中占主流地位。现代性取得了巨大成就的同时,也带了诸多的隐忧。克服这些隐忧,为现代性寻找出路的关键就在于恢复对现代性的文化理解,为原子化的自我及其自由找到处境。

Modernity is the most important problem in our times. Charles Taylor proposed the disparities in the understanding of modernity on the basis of the analysis of the intellectual history （cultural modernity and non-cultural modernity） and pointed it out that the acultural modernity was more important in the western culture. While modernity makes greater progress, it also brings with it a lot of malaises. To remove these malaises, and to find the outlet for modernity is to resume the cultural understanding of modernity and to situate the atomized self and its freedom.
