申燕的《<阿Q正传>的艺术缺陷及原因》一文是典型的时下流行的酷评,对《阿Q正传》进行了缺乏学理的质疑和批评。其主要论点是对前人错误观点的简单拼凑,缺乏原创性的新见,而且其认为的缺陷缺少客观依据、牵强附会,体现出相对狭隘、传统、僵化的文学观念。鲁迅研究需要创新、需要破除陈规,但更需要尊重基本事实的真正的学理批评。

This essay oppugns and criticizes The Real Story of Ah Q, but such a criticism is not scientific, namely its main ideas are pieced together with the past erroneous points lacking originality; the deficiencies the essay points out are groundless and far- fetched, and it reflects the verkrampte literary views. In studying Lu Xun, we should innovate and abolish the stereotype ; moreover the basic facts must be followed, thus it could be regarded the real academic theoretical criticism.
