鲁迅先生最爱《孔乙己》的原因,主要是创作态度的"从容不迫"。《孔乙己》构思的精妙可简括为两点:一是大题小做,小中见大,通过酒店小伙计的所见所闻,塑造小人物孔乙己,透视的却是社会生活的方方面面,表达的是深刻的主题思想。二是用喜剧的手法表现悲剧的题材,把沉重的思想感情寄寓在轻松幽默的形式里,举重若轻,独树一帜。
