从饱和土有效应力的经典定义出发，讨论了工程计算中应用的一些非饱和土有效应力表达式．基于非饱和土中已广为接受的双应力变量公式，建议了一个非饱和土的广义有效应力定义并导出了它的理性公式．它能同时适用于饱和－非饱和土的数值模拟和计算．

Starting with the classical definition of the effective stress in saturated soils, the author discusses existing expressions of the effective stress in unsaturated soils used for engineering calculations. Based on the two stress variable formulation accepted for unsaturated soils, a definition of generalized effective stress is proposed and its rational formulation is derived. It simultaneously suits the numerical simulation and calculation for saturated and unsaturated soils.
