Explanations on Text Production from Information Structure Theory——An Investigation of Writing Skills Employed by Graduates in Science and Engineering

在平时的教学过程中发现,研究生在经过了大学英语的系统学习后已具备了一定的英语写作能力,但仍存在语篇不连贯、不经济、可读性差及逻辑性不强等问题。作者从信息结构理论的角度出发,结合实证调查,以期对这些问题产生的根源做出合理的解释。

Teaching experience tells us that graduate students still have difficulties in writing even though atoned wiht some writing sells after four - year systematical learning in college. Lots of texts composed by them lack in incoherence, economy, logicality and can＇ t arouse readers ＇ interests. In tiffs paper, the author tries to explain the phenomenon by analyzing the information structure of the sample text.
