文章以Christiane Nord的文献型翻译策略为理论基础,从语言和文化两个层面对沙博理先生的英译本Family进行了描述性分析,进而说明它属于一种有效的适度的文献型翻译。它既较好地保留了原著文化,又考虑了外国读者的接受力,可谓鱼和熊掌兼而得之。

Based on Christiane Nord＇s theory of documentary translation, this article analyses Sidney Shapiro＇s Family at both linguistic and cultural levels to indicate that Family is a kind of moderate and effective documentary translation, which both preserves Chinese culture and helps readers read smoothly and understand Chinese culture easily at the same time. This kind of new translation strategy gives consideration to both the source text, the author and the reader instead of taking only one of them into account.
