Preliminary Study on Artificial Feeding Method of Spodoptera exigua

[目的]人工饲养甜菜夜蛾,为生物活性测定的顺利进行提供可靠虫源。[方法]在前人饲养甜菜夜蛾的基础上,结合实际情况,总结出一套比较简单、方便的甜菜夜蛾人工饲养方法。[结果]饲养条件、饲养设备及用具、饲养过程都有其特定的要求,并提出了注意事项。[结论]该研究为大规模进行甜菜夜蛾人工饲养提供了途径。

[ Objective] The aim of the research was to feed Spodoptera exigua artificially and provide reliable insect sources for smooth determination of biological activity. [Method] On the basis of previous feeding S. exigua, a set of simple and convenient artificial feeding methods of S. exigua were sum up according to practical situations. [Result] Feeding conditions, feeding equipments and tools and feeding process all had their specific requirements. And some points for attention were put forward. [Conclusion] This research provided an approach for artificial feeding of S. exigua in a large scale.
