This paper analyzes and contrasts various maintenance methods, puts forward the importance of preventive maintenance, introduces several methods of the application of emulsified asphalt in highway preventive maintenance, discusses the new technology of modified emulsified asphalt in highway preventive maintenance, and points out that carrying out preventive maintenance of pavement by emulsified asphalt can reduce general cost, which has advantages as flexible, timely and simple.
