To measure the displacement of rolling stock under the lateral vibration is a very important sector in checking of rolling stock gauge. The principles and methods of static measurement of the dynamic displacement, the corresponding relation between the lateral acceleration and the equivalent cant, the calculation of carbody swing displacement and the actually measured curve are described in this paper.
