Development of Distance Higher Education in Kenya

时代的进步与高等教育资源短缺最终促成了远程高等教育的发展。在肯尼亚,高等教育远程学习的新趋势亦日见端倪,其远程高等教育机构均为大学下属的院系部门,学费实行成本分担。现在,肯尼亚远程高等教育的发展在国家制度、资金和文化传统方面都面临着诸多问题,但国家重视教育、解决教育问题的意识和行动将使未来远程高等教育进一步发展壮大。

The advance of the age and the want of higher education resources result in the development of distance higher education. This has become a common way in Kenya, where institutions of distance higher education are departments and/or faculties affiliated to universities, and a cost-sharing system is practiced in the tuition. For the time being, there are still many problems with Kenya＇ s distance higher education, such as its national system, funding and cultural tradition, but the government＇ s awareness of and action in giving priorities to education and solving the problems therein will certainly boost the further development of distance higher education in the future.
