It is an important part of English teaching reform to apply the teaching model of graded teaching, classified guidance and graded goal reaching instead of the traditional single model. This paper explores the implementation background, theoretical foundation, operation process and teaching effect of graded teaching in college English. Graded teaching practice confirms the advantages and also shows the problems in this teaching model. Therefore, Suggestions are made for the solution.
