Fighting into and out of "Fortress Besieged" of Intextuality:A Case Study on Intertextual Reference Recognition and Transference

互文指涉的识别与转换既是一个重要的问题,又是一个棘手的问题,但是迄今为止这个问题却没有得到应有的重视。本文以钱钟书的小说《围城》英译本中互文指涉的识别与转换中的处理为个案分析,指出在进行互文指涉的识别时应该注意互文标志这一识别的线索,在转换时应以达成最佳关联为指导原则。

The recognition and transference of intertextual reference, a core issue of intertextuality - based translation theory, has not received the kind of attention which is its due. This paper, taking its handling in the English version of Qian Zhongshu＇ s novel ＂Fortress Besieged＂ as a case study, points out that intertextual signals should be heeded and that the principle of optimal relevance should be observed respectively in the process of its recognition and transference.
