摘要
ATM网传送MPEG－2业务是远程教育、VOD、远程医疗等网络服务的基础。由于MPEG－2具有很高的压缩比，因此它对丢失、时延有很高的要求。ATM网在传送MPEG－2业务时的关键是如何满足MPEG－2对丢失和时延的特定要求。本文对ATM传送MPEG－2的适配方法、打包策略、定时恢复及排队策略进行了综述。
Transporting MPEG-2 over ATM is the key technique for tele-education, Video-on-Demand and telemedicine. It presents strict requirements oil cell loss and delay for the service because of the high compression ratio of MPEG-2. Therefore, the principal issue for MPEG-2 over ATM is how to meet the particular requirements of loss and delay demanded by MPEG-2. This paper gives the overview of the adaptation method, packing scheme, time recovery and queueing scheme for the MPEG-2 over ATM.
