Numerous studies have shown that the pathogenesis of psoriasis is closely related to the differentiation unbalance of T helper cells, out of control of the signal transduction in activated T cells and abnormality of gene expression. T cells can be activated by antigenic or non-antigenic stimulation. There are three signal transduction pathways in activated T cells: Ca^2+ dependent protein kinase C pathway, mitogen-activated protein kinases and Janus kinase signal transducer and activators of transcription (JAK-STAT) pathway, and JAK-STAT is the key pathway. So, it is important to effectively regulate T cell activation and signal transduction for psoriasis treatment.
