The paper analyzes the state of the worldwide mining investment by the contrast of regions/countries, different mine types and different phases. Then it introduces the important discoveries of the worldwide mineral exploration in 2006 and the new teclmology and method of geophysical and geochemical exploration, remote sensing and information processing. At last, the paper summarizes the trend of world mineral exploration. The worldwide mining has entered a new peak of development, on this background, it＇s very important to analyze the state of the worldwide mineral exploration for defining the strategy and the orientation of the mineral exploration in China and ensuring the national interests and the resource safety.
