SS7 is part and parcel of modern communication networks, and its testing is essential to the safety of communication. This paper deals with the overall design of a SS7 testing system, some ways to classify the software and hardware employed for the realization of such a system, and how to design the software and hardware for the system. In addition, the interchange faults in various digital SPC exchanges at home and abroad are discussed, and the interchange technology is emphasized which deserves adequate attention in the designing of a SS7 testing system.
