This paper introduces the structural features, forms and applications of the Client/Server pattern, gives a detailed account of POWERBUILDER, a development tool of the C/S pattern and the process of developing front terminal database via POWERBUILDER, and presents a complete Script code for maintaining and operating the Data window, or the core component of POWERBUILDER,aiming to offer some help to those who want to know the C/S pattern and seek the applications based on this pattern.
