The relationship between geometric parameters of vertical section of route and expenditure of operation is pointed out. The calculaion method of expenditure of operation is introduced. Further discussion is also made on geometric parameters of vertical section of route. Combined with example detailed introduction is made in order to realize optimtnn design of vertical section of route to reduce operation expenditure.
