马克·波斯特试图将信息方式的考察发展为一种批判理论,而批判理论的重要范畴是主体问题。因此,波斯特将福柯的全景监狱理论与数据库联系起来,提出了"超级全景监狱"理论,其考察的正是主体的构建问题。作为超级全景监狱的数据库话语,是后现代信息方式下对大众进行控制的手段。超级全景监狱的"超级"之处在于:全民都参加了这样一个自我构建过程,把自己构建为超级全景监狱中进行规训的主体。

Mark Poster tries to develop the review of mode of information into a kind of critical theory the important category of which is the question of subject. Therefore, Poster combines the panopticon theory of Foucault with database and puts forward the superpanopticon theory which reviews the question of constructing subject. As superpanopticon, the disconrse of database is the way of controlling the masses in the mode of information. The ＂super＂ of superpanopticon lies in that the people take part in such a self construction course and construct themselves as disciplining subject.
