As a fine chemical production, sorbitol takes more and more important role in many indus- trious. Summary was carried out on the research and development of sorbitol synthesis by catalytic hydrogenation, electro reducing and bio-production methods. The problem of the local industry was reviewed. Some development suggestions were also introduced.
