1896年,被赋予新生命的现代奥运会在奥林匹亚山上蹒跚起步,至今已过去111年。从接到奥运会第一张邀请书到夺得第一枚奥运会金牌,中国人花了整整90年。在这近一个世纪里,既有旧中国的辛酸和屈辱,有新中国成立初期的曲折奋争,更有1984年重返奥运后的步步辉煌。追忆历史,我们每个人深深地感受到体育的强弱与国运的兴衰是紧密相连的。如今,2008年夏季奥运会即将在北京举行,这是全世界对中国改革开放后经济社会取得迅速、健康发展的肯定,是中国国力增强、国威大振的表现,每一个中国人为此充满着自豪。

Modem Olympic Games began its new life on Olympia mountains in 1896. 111 years have passed away. China has spent 90 years on struggling to receive the first invitation of Olympic Games and win the first Olympic gold medal since then.The way to Olympic Games is not only filled with setbacks, bitter and humiliation ,but also strugle,enjoy and success during almost a century. When looking back the past years,everyone was deeply feel that powerful sports is closely linked with stronger nation.It is the symbol of China social rapid development and stronger national strength that 2008 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Beijing.Every chinese is proud of it.
